Albanian Government Council of Ministers

A growing number of farmers and agribusiness operators are increasingly exploring investment opportunities especially in farming and livestock as high-quality fresh products are most-sought in the markets. The animal husbandry complex “Flori” in Lezha is one of the farming models in Albania. Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the farming facility where more than animals are raised for meat, milk and other products. He was informed that with the constant growing of livestock product, a new technology was introduced a year ago with the support of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDA) to double milk production in this complex.

“Flori” complex has benefited a new silage processing machinery under the 2018 national scheme. It is a modern technology,” said Frida Krifca, the head of ARDA.

“We faced many difficulties while using the previous outdated machinery. The new one has made it all easier. The government assistance has helped us a lot. The milk production has now doubled to 4000 litres from previous 2000 litres,” the entrepreneur said, adding that the government decision to remove the tax on agricultural inputs will help farming and agriculture. “We have been impatiently awaited this decision,” Flori said.

Flori livestock farm cooperates with the leading company “Natyral”. “The company runs a modern milk processing plant that meets highest European standards and it has received funding under the IPARD programme. It produces high-quality livestock products,” Krifca said.

The administrators of this farm also point out that they are very careful with the selection of cattle breeds and the quality of the food type for animals.
