Prime Minister Edi Rama met in Paris with French President François Hollande. The meeting preceded the ceremony held in honour of writer Ismail Kadare who was awarded the title Commander of the Legion of Honour.
During the meeting with President Hollande, attended also by Foreign Minister Bushati and French Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Désir, the commitment of France to provide a meaningful orientation to Euro-integration policies in relation to Albania was confirmed, especially through the Paris conference and a new agenda of France for the region starting from September.
In addition to praising the stabilizing role of Albania in the region, President Hollande strongly encouraged the achievement of the judicial reform, and noted that our country is on the right track in the process for opening negotiations.
A special assessment for Albania and the work of the government was given to the fight against religious radicalism and to the economic renewal. In this regard, France intends to play its role through major investments such as TAP-IAP.
