Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected today in Kavaja works for the reconstruction of the road on the outskirts of the city. This road takes the residents of Kavaje to Rrogozhinë. With an investment of 3.4 million dollars, the road is designed to become a 17 meter-wide promenade area which will include a bike lane.

The reconstruction of this important 2.5 kilometer road is of special importance because it takes to the industrial area where approximately 30% of the city’s businesses are located, thus facilitating the mobility and the daily activity of the enterprise.

“This road is very useful for the entrepreneurs of the city. It was forgotten for 30 years, but now it is being built with European standards. This road solves a huge problem, because it helps the industrial area of the city. Entrepreneurs are very happy for its construction”- Mayor Elvis Roshi said.

Prime Minister Rama stressed the importance of this investment as part of the city’s economic development, and which creates conditions for a more sustainable development. The Prime Minister noted that this investment under the new territorial reform is made within the new administrative unit, where municipalities will be an organic part of the city.

Prime Minister Rama inspected also the works for the requalification of the square in city center. The reconstruction provides the total re-composition of the central square which covers a surface of 11 thousand m2. The central square of the city is conceived as a pedestrian area paved with stone slabs. In addition, sidewalks will be built, facades and the public garden will be rehabilitated and a fountain will be built. This investment of over 200 million will enhance the functionality of the city center as urban and social center.
