“Korca has really become the engine of urban renaissance”, Prime Minister Edi Rama said after inspecting today some of the sites of infrastructure works for the revitalization and development of the city’s social life.

The Prime Minister visited the city Park “Rinia”, where the project is being implemented for its rehabilitation and transformation into a qualitative space of civic life. Currently works are being finalized for the lighting of decorative walls with glass bricks. Benches are being placed along the promenade, and the lake basin in the corner of the park is almost finished.

With regard to works started in this city, the Prime Minister said that Korca is a city where projects are conceived according to a European vision and are made with the high quality of the ambition of a model community in Albania. This rebirth of the city, which according to the Prime Minister is giving the first signs of economic recovery for family businesses, will be extended to every new municipality of Korca.

“I believe that there is no need for comment. The work done by Sotiraq speaks for itself through the splendor of these projects. Korca has really become the locomotive of urban renaissance. It is the place where without even the slightest doubt a fantastic transformation has occurred, and this is shown by the fact that plenty of visitors come visit the city in the weekends. There are clear signs of a significant improvement of the economy of households, held by the city’s businesses. There is no question that what has begun here will be extended to every new municipality, as every new municipalities will continue on the road of urban renaissance to finally give citizens and families everywhere they live the opportunity to feel part of the community, part of the city, whether they live in downtown or in the most remote village. Urban municipalities are an integrated entity that will leave behind over 20 years of anarchy, dust, mud and nonsense” – the Prime Minister said. In this visit he was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi and Mayor Sotiraq Filo.

Two additional renaissance sites are the tennis stadium and another sports field, which the Prime Minister considered important for the revitalization of the city’s social life.
