During official visit to Qatar, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The two counterparts praised the existing co-operation between the countries, and agreed to further boost the potential for cooperation in various areas, including agriculture, agro-industry, energy and renewable energy in particular. Cooperation in the field of air transport was also welcomed.

Qatar’s Prime Minister, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani said that a special working group, led by His Highness himself, has been established, announcing that He would pay a visit to Albania soon in order to identify potential for best orientation of investment in Albania-Qatar cooperation.

Several agreements were signed during the meeting: Agreement on Maritime Transport between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania; Letter of Intent for Cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar; Letter of Intent for Cooperation in the Field of Sports between the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the State of Qatar.

The agreements were signed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku, and the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Etjen Xhafaj.
