Prime Minister Edi Rama had a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The two dignitaries exchanged views on the development challenges and highlighted the need to coordinate the contributions of all to address them. Secretary Guterres congratulated Albania on the Integration of Sustainable Development Objectives into the National Development Strategy.

The political and security situation in the Western Balkans was the focus of the meeting. Prime Minister Rama guaranteed that the Albanian Government is highly committed to peace and security not only in our region but also in a broader context.

In this regard, Prime Minister Rama underlined that the recognition of Kosovo by all countries is a direct contribution to the security and stability of the entire region and of all of its countries.

Prime Minister Edi Rama also praised the role and contribution to the reform processes of UN agencies in Albania.
