The town of Rreshen will soon become the newest urban development model for the administrative units upon completion of the post-earthquake reconstruction programme. Like many other areas across the country, Rreshen was hard hit by the devastating earthquake on November 26, 2019, with hundreds of families becoming homeless.
The work to construct the new residential complex in Rreshen is progressing fast, while the infrastructure and site preparation work is nearing completion. Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mirdita Mayor Ndrec Dedaj inspected the site where houses for the quake-affected families are being built.
The government head was briefed about the project details and its progress and it will provide Mirdita a completely new urban quality upon its completion.
Mayor Dedaj said that the work to build civil and urban infrastructure is scheduled to complete in the next three weeks. “Work is underway to construct the sewerage and wastewater network. I am confident this will be one of the most beautiful residential complexes in Albania with green spaces, parking places, sidewalks, and lighting system,” Mayor Dedaj said.
The Prime Minister praised the construction company for the work done so far and called for the pace of work to be accelerated with the improved weather conditions during this period. “Significant progress has been made since my previous visit here. Work should continue ceaselessly given the favourable weather conditions.”
The new residential complex includes 35 single-family homes and 68 apartments.
