The urban requalification of the Vlorë-Rradhime-Orikum coastline, or Lungomare 3, has already entered an important phase of the implementation, which continues in all lots with a series of fundamental interventions that completely recompose the coastal area, where it will be given priority for vacationers, with an infrastructure worthy of touristic Vlora. The works carried out so far include the expansion of the beaches, the creation of protective spaces from the water, the opening of footpaths, where the bicycle lane will be added, together with new elements of urban furniture.
Prime Minister Rama conducted the next inspection in Lungomare 3, where in some segments, the works are nearing completion to welcome tourists in the summer season.
“We are here in the most difficult part of the implementation, in the underground part of the whole area. All these underground works, the piles are finished, now we only wait for the rise of the level 2.2 from the sea level. Virtually all of this area, together with the fence of the villa, which will be completed soon and will also create a bicycle lane, will be ready by the end of May. This will be a pedestrian area. The material will be removed, cleaned and the piles will be protected with large stones. I believe this area here will be finished on June 15, ready for the season.” – said one of the engineers, who introduced Prime Minister Rama with technical details of the project.
An important part of the project is the expansion of the beaches through piers placed as infrastructure for boats and vacationers, as well as the requalification of the surrounding buildings in cooperation with private owners.
“Prime Minister, it has been 4 months since your last visit and in these 4 months a volume of work has been done in relation to the marinas, almost 90% completed, which is also the most difficult part of the project. Marinas or in other words brushes are all these structures that we look at. It becomes a perfect composition of the entire coastline.” – pointed out one of the implementers of the project, as he gave more details about the urban furniture and greenery of the area. “We have started with what is most important, in the carpet part of the promenade. Contouring of the retaining wall of the promenade has begun. Contouring of the green belt. For each length of 150 m, toilets, showers and changing rooms will be installed. It will become a perfect aesthetic urban environment.”
The promenade envisaged in this project is 5 meters wide, mainly green, with trees adapted to the climate of the area such as pine trees, palm trees, citrus trees etc.
