Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Press release of the Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj after the meeting of the Council of Ministers:

With today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Albanian government reaffirmed its commitment to support the implementation of the Justice Reform.

At its first meeting, the government decided to make available a working space for the Independent Qualification Commission and the International Monitoring Mission.

Today, the Albanian government made another important step. It approved the decision to make available the premises for the ad hoc Appellate Panel, thus enabling the provision of logistical and infrastructural conditions necessary for its functioning.

With these two decisions, the Albanian government provides the vetting bodies a thorough infrastructure and logistics support.

At the same time, the Albanian government is committed and willing to support the structures and to provide financial support for the salaries of the vetting bodies’ staff, a decision that is being discussed also in the Laws Committee and will be adopted soon by the Albanian Parliament.

Upon completion of this process, the vetting bodies are ready to initiate the vetting process of revaluation entities.

I take the opportunity to express on behalf of the Albanian government the full commitment of the government to support the implementation of the Justice Reform in respect of the constitutional and legal provisions.
