Lisar Seedlings is another successful agriculture and agro-processing enterprise operating in the area of Divjake that grows and supplies a wide range of seedlings and plat varieties to the domestic and international market. Prime Minister Edi Rama toured the huge greenhouse facility operated by this company to learn more about the needs and growth such enterprises have experienced in recent years. The government support through programmes and legal initiatives has given a strong impetus to development of the country’s agriculture.
Lisar Seedlings grows over 15 million plants and seedlings in an area of 3.6 hectares each year.
“We have a very good cooperation with the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDA). The export demand for our seedlings has almost trebled. In the meantime, we are working on building an experimental greenhouse to test more fresh varieties under a new project being implemented through ARDA support,” the entrepreneur said.
Hard work, dedication and passion have led to creation of such model in agriculture, which sets an example for farmers in Divjake and elsewhere to follow, while support has been granted to such projects through IPARD Programme.
“It is time for Albanian agriculture to improve quality of local agricultural produce. Leading European companies already know our enterprise and their representatives have travelled to Albania to visit our greenhouses,” founder of the company Lisar Seedlings said.
