Albanian Government Council of Ministers

A new era of public service delivery system is set to start with the closure of all in-person service windows to be replaced by the digital ones.

The news was announced during a conference hosted by the Minister of State for Standards and Services, focusing on the digital revolution in the area of public services.

Public services will be delivered via the online “e-Albania” only and physical service windows will be no longer operational. The service windows will remain open to provide only the services, for which the citizens’ in-person presence is necessary

The Minister for Standards and Services Milva Ekonomi said in her remarks that delivering quick and quality services to the citizens is a top priority for the Socialist government since it took office.

“The government was committed to delivering on its target to shut down all the service windows by April 30 and delivering all the public services via the e-Albania online platform only, based on a very important objective that is the equality of citizens before the law, regardless of who asks for the service, where he lives and if he needs a fast service, everyone receives this service in the same way,” Ekonomi said.

Director General of the National Agency for Information Society, Mirlinda Karçanaj, said “our ambition is to build a centred system of the public administration work in the next two years.”
