Albanian Government Council of Ministers

A success story in a factory which last year had only 60 employees, and in 360 days has become a strong enterprise with over 600 employees, and with the perspective to expand in the future.

Prime Minister Rama visited this toll manufacturing enterprise which has been operative in Tirana for one year, and which was transformed in a short period of time from a small enterprise in a factory that has already a closed cycle of production.

Italian entrepreneur Fabio Attanassio, with a 15-year experience in this sector, said that he envisages to have 3500 employees within a period of 2 years. “Our product goes to Canada, Germany, America, and we are honored to present the country with the brand “Made in Albania” – the Italian entrepreneur said.

Managers of the enterprise said that cooperation with the job offices, the fiscal facilities, in particular the abolition of VAT on imported machinery, have been an important driver for success. “We have grown within a year. We started with 60 employees a year ago, and today are 600. The government has supported us. The job offices have been working in this direction and helped us a lot by providing experienced employees. We have had the government’s fiscal support. This is a completely new investment. Exemption from VAT on imported machinery has been a great help. We have found the right ground to develop. ”

Noting that this support will continue in the future, the Prime Minister said that the government will support the business and promote new policies of development. As one of the most important mitigation measures in the new fiscal package, the Prime Minister pointed out the payment for scan in customs, which will be done by the state.

“This is a success story in investment, employment and very correct relationship with the state, with tax obligations. Benefit from the abolition of import duty on machinery is concrete here, as it is in many other realities.

Secondly, this is a real success because from the 60 employees we had last years, we have today 600, 100 of which are the result of the promotion of employment policies by the government. Today, as we speak, we have 26 thousand and several hundred vacancies at labor offices across the territory of Albania.

It is the case to tell those who really want a job, who really want to live by the job, to address to job offices and insist, for there are many options ranging from demands of people with higher education to specific training, or any ordinary job.

With the new budget, the state will pay the scan customs costs on behalf of manufacturing, in order to allow it to continue exports and to grow, for it has a huge potential.

Many people consider it as a low category job, but what we are seeing is the creation of a closed cycle, which we have promoted. This means that they are genuine manufacturing factories covering the whole process from design to sales in countries where products are exported.”

The Prime Minister said that all those who create success through ideas, courage and determination to live by honest work will be supported.
