Intense work is underway to construct the road network in a 10-ha area where the new central residential neighbourhood is being built in the municipality of Vora. New Vora downtown will be reborn with an infrastructure according to the modern standards in line with a project designed to completely transform the town’s landscape. The investment will directly serve to a total of 404 families, who will accommodate in the new dwellings due to be constructed within the new complex.

Prime Minister Edi Rama today inspected the ongoing work to construct complete infrastructure of Zone 1 in Vora, where the underground infrastructure has already completed. The Minister of Reconstruction Ahmetaj explained that the goal in this stage of the process is to build the entire infrastructure that will serve as a basis for the construction and operation of individual and collective housing. “Here are almost all the level roads, what the project refers to as a boulevard, or the entire perimeter of the new construction area. All the apartment buildings that have sustained damages to their structure will be demolished this week and there begins the boulevard that puts the new profile of the town of Vora,” said the Reconstruction Minister Ahmetaj, who added that work to construct the apartment buildings in Durres is set to begin next week. “The Albanian Development Fund will announce today the winners for construction of two apartment buildings in Durres. Starting today, a union of operators is operational and work to construct the apartment buildings will immediately begin next week.” 

The Premier was briefed on the project’s details by the project implementation engineer. The project envisages construction of a new road network in the surrounding area and the residential complex; construction of water supply and sewerage and wastewater network; construction of the power supply system and telephone network; as well as street lighting and with road signage.

PM Rama also visited the new kindergarten “Muçaj”, construction of which is heading towards completion and new facility will open its doors to kindergarten children on Nov 26 this year. The kindergarten is being rebuilt from scratch thanks to the Educational Facility Reconstruction Program, providing not only safe accommodation for the kids, but also modern amenities and conditions where they can learn and entertain.
