A series of modern infrastructure projects are delivering unstoppable transformation of the coastal city of Vlora. The “24 Maji” residential neighbourhood in the city is benefiting a modern infrastructural project this time. The six-hectare area will undergo complete transformation, featuring new streets, new lighting system and green spaces that will create optimum conditions for local residents and drive up prices for all area homes and real estate properties.
The project has just been launched and Prime Minister Edi Rama visited Vlora to inspect the ongoing requalification works on “24 Maji” neighbourhood where old and illegal buildings were being demolished to free public spaces after gaining full approval and understanding from local residents.
“The area in which the project is being implemented covers around six hectares. The project has just been launched. An area of some 7500-square meters will be paved with asphalt in whole this territory. The total surface area of the sideways is estimated at around 10, 500 square meters and the project is designed to build a model structure, which will be followed by many more investments in the whole territory of the problematic residential neighbourhoods in Vlora. The Cole neighbourhood is one of the parts widely commented by the citizens, who have repeatedly called that the projects shouldn’t stop here. Thanks to the Albanian Development Fund and your personal support, we managed to launch this important project in record time. We will then continue with the rehabilitation and installation of the new lighting system, green spaces with ornamental plants that will be planted along entire public spaces due to be created under this project. A children’s park and playground will set a new standard in this neighbourhood and these all will create a positive habitat for local inhabitants, who have been missing investments in public spaces around the residential buildings. The project will be the initial original intervention that will be followed by more projects in the whole area,” Vlora Mayor Dritan Leli said, adding that the new projects would lead to a new arrangement pattern of the public spaces.
Mayor Leli also added that residents are aware of the benefits of such infrastructure projects and are supporting these investments.
“These projects have been met with the understanding and approval from local residents. We actually encountered some minor problems when the initial investments were launched, but now the trust in investments that bring improvements in infrastructure, improve lives and increase the value of properties, in Vlora has become a tangible reality,” Leli said, underlining that local authorities have established a very good communication with the residents.
