Prime Minister Edi Rama thanked today the Minister of Finance Shkëlqim Cani for his commitment, professionalism and integrity in accomplishing one of the most difficult governing tasks of this mandate.

The Prime Minister informed Minister Cani of the decision to replace him with another colleague, and urged him to keep with his commitment, with the same professionalism and dedication in his task as a Member of Parliament and a member of the Commission of Economy and Finance.

Minister Cani thanked the Prime Minister for the trust and close cooperation in overcoming successfully the tough financial situation inherited two and a half years ago, and assured him on his ongoing political and professional commitment as a Member of Parliament.

The office of the Minister of Finance will be entrusted by the Prime Minister to Mr Arben Ahmetaj, while the office of the Minister of Economy, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship will be entrusted to Ms Milva Ekonomi.
