The Urban Renaissance projects are increasingly extending from the city centres to areas left in oblivion for decades. The most recent example is the Leshnica stream in Kavajë, which from a canal filled with waste and sludge, is turning into a dock for boats, and into a pedestrian zone for the residents of the area, who will have also a bicycle runway.
Representatives of the Municipality of Kavaje and work managers briefed the Prime Minister on the next stage of the project concerning the urban remediation of the entire area. “Lightening, benches, greenery and parking lots have been envisaged in the next stage. It was such a disaster, and an extraordinary work was required to bring it to these levels.”
Prime Minister Edi Rama paid also a visit to the mosque of Kavaje, and wished all Muslim believers on the holy month of Ramadan.
