Project of Vlora Waterfront Promenade (Lungomare) will be implemented by Belgian XDGA design studio, represented by architect Xaveer de Geyter. The international jury, composed of 9 members – well-known architects and constructors – selected the draft-proposal of this studio as the best vision for turning Vlora city coastline into one of the most attractive destinations in the Mediterranean.
Vlora citizens closely watched the presentation of 5 best draft-ideas selected by prestigious jury out of 45 presented proposals.
According to the Jury, this project fully meets the two main goals set by it: respect and exploitation of 5km space of the Vlora promenade and adaptation of this project with specific elements of this promenade. At the same time, the Jury selected the local architecture studio “Metropolis” as the key partner of the foreign studio for development of the project.
Meanwhile, HFF Swiss studio, represented by Simon Hartmann ranked second and L’AUC Paris French studio, represented by Djamel Klouche ranked third.
Even though the winner is one, the Prime Minister earlier in his speech said that all the participants would give an extraordinary contribution with their ideas. “Certainly, every precious idea will be an integrated part of this major project for our city, a project that paves way for Renaissance of Vlora,” he said
Part of the jury were also Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi and minister of Urban Development and Tourism Englantina Gjermeni.
