Around 24 public services provided by the Social Insurance Institute are now delivered online via e-albania.al web platform and smartphone app as part of the Albanian government’s public services reform. This innovation of the digital revolution in the Social Insurance Institute offices will allow every applicant to complete online the whole procedure for obtaining 102 out 151 various personal documents issued by the state institutions, both at central and local level, that previously had to be provided by the applicants in person, but will now be provided by the personnel of the Social Insurance Institute.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Economy Anila Denaj, today visited the Social Insurance Institute offices in Tirana, where the unique service windows offer the needed assistance to the citizens, who still need to familiarize with the newly-introduced online application.
Answering to the interest of a large number of retirees about the new way they should apply in order to benefit services from the basket of many basic public services, the government head said that everything would become much easier and simpler for each applicant. “The digital revolution will put an end to the long-queues of people you are used with. We are assisting everyone so that you learn how the application is made. Not long ago, you had to report to various state offices in order to obtain and provide all these documents and it is us the one to provide them for you now. The state employees will now provide all the documents you need. You should merely ask your nephews or nieces, a friend or the neighbour, or ask for assistance at the postal service offices to fill in the application via the web platform and you will then receive an official reply. The whole process you had to do by yourselves will now be carried out by the employees here and you have just to wait and a reply will be provided within the legal deadline. Every document and every procedure is carried out by the computer and each of you will be able to track the procedure online and you should then just report at the state offices to obtain the needed document,” the Premier explained.
