Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The new road linking Peshkëpi and Selenice is the latest investment designed to turn the road into integral part of Vlora River road. Prime Minister Edi Rama today inspected the construction camp of this public work.

The 15-km road will provide the area access to the road network that links the coastal area with the city of Vlora and Kurvelsh area to further extend to Tepelene and Gjirokaster.

The Head of the Albanian Development Fund (ADF) Dritan Agolli said that the road will be expanded and totally upgraded to improve its technical standards. “Construction work is in full swing and we expect the road to complete and open to traffic within seven months,” Agolli said.

The road – the Premier said – is not merely a road segment, but a road for development.

“The ADF-funded road will become integral part of the Vlora River road already complete and about to open to traffic soon so that Selenice as part of this wonderful area integrates to become not just part of the road, but also part of a new development this area will soon experience after being freed up from the decades long isolation because of lack of access to road network,” he said.
