At the end of today’s parliamentary session, Prime Minister Rama had a communication with journalists and pointed out that today no MP is immune to investigation by the Prosecution. “First, the immunity of the MP has long since lapsed. We are not in a situation when we are discussing to revoke or leave him the immunity, the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister Rama said clearly that no citizen of this country can be arrested without relying on concrete facts and evidence that corroborate the allegations raised on him. The head of government also said that this is not just about immunity. “I repeat it. This is about something extreme. Arrest and imprisonment. I’ve heard you. You’re the most innocent ones in this story. By you, – for it’s very easy for me to skip this with you, – I mean the big heads that shake the world in the clubs of the media hub. “Well, what’s the problem? Let’s have him imprisoned first, and then we’ll see.” What is this? In which age are we? In the wood age or in the stone age?”
In answering one of the questions, the Prime Minister clearly expressed his will that the truth be fully disclosed. “I want the truth and only the truth as soon as possible, and I want this from justice”, the head of the Government said.
