An agreement was signed Monday between Hotel Tirana and Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts, a multinational 5-star luxury brand, as part of the strategy on sustainable development of tourism in Albania and promotion of strategic investments through attraction of leading international brands in the hospitality and tourism industry.

 Hello everyone,

It is definitely a special pleasure to witness successful crowning of a long effort to attract another giant of the global tourism industry to Tirana, namely the Intercontinental Hotel and Resorts, but for everyone who knows Rame Geci for years, it is also an emotional moment as Rama is a man who speak through his work and not words.

The truth is that Ramë embarked on this path by holding the DP flag to replace it with the flag of hard work later and joined the hard-working parties and governments only since then.

I would also like to thank the Intercontinental Group friends for their presence, who will return to Albania soon to sign yet another agreement on the Intercontinental hotel in Durres and I believe that arrival of this colossus – and they are not the only ones indeed, because a number of leading companies in the global tourism industry are already operational in Albania, they have already signed agreements and they are opening doors one by one – speaks for a completely different Albania, it speaks up for an Albania already on the global tourism map. A lot certainly remains to be done, but with these companies entering Albania the news and the word is being very quickly, because – I don’t know whether you noticed the presentation behind my back, which described a company that hosts 130 million guests, who remain loyal to this company in every country where this company operates and this is not just about taking up an hospitality structure to manage highly professionally, but also taking a community of dozens and even hundreds of millions of guests, who are immediately informed about a new door that is being opened and many of them visit these structures wherever they are opened.

I would also like to thank the two architects, namely Peter, who is one of the main protagonists of Albania’s urban transformation in various parts of the country, and Simone Mikel, who will work on the new hotel’s interior design.

I am convinced that this Intercontinental hotel will be one of the facilities the company will be proud of itself, which has such a number of hotels that you can’t count.
