Albanian Government Council of Ministers

“24-hour potable water supply for Kruja! Cheers!” This was the toast the Prime Minister Edi Rama proposed to local residents as he drank water from the newly-built water supply system in Kruja, which brought to an end the tough 30-year period of inherited problem of water supply to the area. Construction of a new water supply system has been a long-promised but never finalized project.

Following a difficult construction work at an elevation of 1630 meters on a challenging terrain, eight new water sources will now provide regular supplies to all households in the town of Kruja.

“The investment project on construction of new water supply network in Kruja has just completed. It is a coincidence that just two days ago we received the results of the tests from the laboratory. The water meets every drinking water quality standards and the investment is vital to the town of Kruja. It was a long-time promise made by the Democratic Party, but it was us to finalize the project. Not only that, but I happened to hear recently that providing water supply to the town of Kruja is again an election campaign promise by the Democratic Party. The company has done really a quality work on a very difficult terrain,” Kruja Mayor Artur Bushi said.

The new water supply system in Kruja ensures 24-hour supply to around 17.500 local residents. The project also envisages constant water supply to the Sarisalltik area.
