Ervin Demo

Ervin Demo, born in Berat in 1982, has served as Minister of State for Local Government since September 2025.

Before this appointment, Mr. Demo served as Mayor of Berat (2019–2025), where he was engaged in improving public services, promoting urban development and transformation, strengthening transparency, encouraging citizen participation in decision-making, and advancing tourism development.

Earlier, during 2017–2018, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth, while from 2012–2016 he served as Vice Rector of the University of Tirana.

His career has been closely connected with higher education. Since 2004, he has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana.

Mr. Demo completed his higher education studies in the United Kingdom, where he obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He later pursued postdoctoral studies at the University of Bologna, Italy, specializing in management and academic development.
