Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama was in the city of Vlora to visit the “Alba Shoes” factory, a fasson industry that has employed 700 people. After some investments made last November, its owners have improved the technology and working conditions in the factory. In addition, they are planning to make new investments to open another production line in Vlora and another one in Çorovodë, thus creating 500 additional jobs within the year.
“We have almost built the facility in Çorovodë where we will employ more than 200 people. The other facility in Vlora will be ready in 4-5 months, because it is a marsh area and it needs to be transformed into a construction area.” – told one of the entrepreneurs.
Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the importance of the fasson industry since it is a great potential for employment in Albania. In addition, continued the Prime Minister, it offers competitive advantages which the government aims at strengthening with 42 new support measures in favor of this industry.
“This month we will announce the measures during a meeting with all of you involved in this industry. Not only we have the measures, but we will also overcome another concerning issue for the fasson industry: we will reduce the risk in the customs. It will be a low risk, only a matter of hours.”
In the last two months, Prime Minister Edi Rama has visited many fasson industries in order to present the new fiscal and administrative measures that address the concerns of this sector and reflect its demands. The fasson industry is thought to be a great potential for the job market.
