Gen. Bradley A. Becker, General Commander of the US Army of the Military District of Washington received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Edi Rama in a Wreath Laying Ceremony to honour the Armed Forces at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Arlington National Cemetery.
The Wreath Laying Ceremony was held on occasion of the official visit of Prime Minister Rama to the United States.
“I am deeply touched by the tributes and the extraordinary solemnity of such a ceremony. Of course, I am proud that I was given the opportunity, as the Prime Minister of Albania, to witness through our official visit to Washington, the deepest respect for the heroes of this great country and at the same time, through this testimony, reaffirm the friendship, partnership and, of course, our readiness to be next to the US in any joint challenge as NATO members and strategic partners.” With these words Prime Minister Rama described for the media one of the most touching moments of that day.
Prime Minister Rama was accompanied in this ceremony by foreign minister Ditmir Bushati and the minister of interior Saimir Tahiri.
