Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Tirana’s iconic Pyramid building became today the symbol of hospitality for the Summit of Berlin Process leaders on Monday after having been completely transformed from a dilapidated uninviting structure, a reminder of a brutal regime, into the largest destination of the digital technology in the region.

After the Berlin Process Summit, all the participating leaders attended the inauguration ceremony of the brand new of the pyramid-shaped structure in Tirana.

Prime Minister Edi Rama: Good evening! I usually should deliver the longest speech, but I am going to make the shortest speech ever as the day is about to end for all our guests and friends, who attended the Summit earlier on the day, but my day will go on with meeting with his Highness, the “ King” of France, who just landed in Tirana just a bit earlier and we need to go on with the rest of these two incredible days with the first visit ever by a French President to our land and as such our hospitality should excel at its best this evening!

I don’t want to take up too much of your time. Of course, I don’t also want to take much of the time I have to dedicate to his Highness and I am very happy that for some certain reasons, this building features not only the genius of the Dutch Senate, genius of the cities and the countries like Winy Maas to work with, but we also have here the greatest master of political coalitions with the minority parties, like Mark Rutte.  So I am very happy.

I would like to thank you Mark for your words. Many would wonder, because I know and you also know quite well how much you wished to visit Albania and you had promised to do so many times, but you now keep visiting Albania constantly and this is definitely a good thing for Albania and for the Netherlands too, as we are witnessing an increasingly growing number of Dutch tourists who visit our country especially during the tourist season and they don’t actually regret for coming here, even though Feynord were beaten by Roma precisely here.

I would like to also thank the Albanian American Development Foundation (AADF), Mark, Martin and their entire Board members. We are very happy about partnership with AADF and we are ready to continue implementing more projects together.

Likewise, I would also like to thank Federica, who came back with the College of Europe and who keeps contributing to our efforts to build the country.

I want to thank (Kosovo Prime Minister) Albin and (Prime Minister of North Macedonia) Dimitar, whi actually helped us and resisted after a very long day to be with us in this inauguration ceremony and I would like to thank each and every one of you for joining us tonight.

Thank you!
