Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The Project of Urban Renaissance for Ulzë, with a 700 million ALL government financing, has totally transformed this small town left in oblivion for years. Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the new promenade of the town. The project has totally rehabilitated the facades, and built the town square along with its main alleys. Prime Minister Rama met also with the residents of Ulzë, whom he informed that in addition to these changes made by the Urban Renaissance, another project that will develop Ulzë even more, is that of the promenade by the lake, which will develop further the area and make it more attractive for tourists.

“I grew up here”, one of the residents said, “but I’ve never seen such a beautiful, amazing investment. I remember only three or four huts under construction.”

“I’m very impressed. I’ve been here before. It was horrible. Now it looks like a small town similar to those abroad. Now we need a promenade by the lake, and we need also to arrange the houses down there, in order to attract tourism”, the Prime Minister said.

The Mayor said that this investment has not only changed the look of the town, but it will also boost local economy. “Following the interventions made within the urban remediation program, the housing price has almost doubled. The residents who were leaving the town, are now coming back.”

Works for the construction of the Klos Ring Road have started following a 120 million ALL investment. This ring road was a necessity for the town due also to the moving of heavy chrome vehicles coming from the mine of Bulqize. Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the works for this ring road which, he noted, considering its importance for the town, was a promise made during the 2015 campaign, and now it is being built despite the result of the local elections.

“This was a promise Valbona made during the campaign. The ring road is being built, although Valbona didn’t win. But it’s not important. People are the same, like everywhere. This is not related to the colour of the Mayor’s shirt. It is connected to the needs of the people. So, we’ll do even more. We hope we’ll be cooperating with more projects with the Town Hall.”

“This is a 120 million ALL investment. This ring road will deviate the traffic towards the town of Klos, and will cross the highway”, the works leader explained.

The project for the rehabilitation of the facades will start soon in Klos, as part of the Urban Renaissance.
