Prime Minister Edi Rama welcomed today in the Hall of Maps King Abdullah II of Jordan, who is in Albania on his first official visit.

Both dignitaries noted that relations between the two countries are led by the spirit of friendship and understanding. In addition, they expressed willingness to enhance economic cooperation.

The Jordanian side showed a special interest in tourism, an area with great potential for growth. King Abdullah II expressed his admiration for the Albanian coastline and assured that he would encourage Jordanian investments in tourism. In addition, he pledged that Jordan, a friendly country, will gladly provide assistance for development in other areas such as health, ICT.

Willingness for greater collaboration in the field of security was underlined. Another issue discussed at the meeting was today’s regional and global challenges, which require interaction between countries and a global response.
