Prime Minister Edi Rama met today with the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi who is on the first official visit to Tirana as President of Kosovo.

The expansion of strategic cooperation already consolidated between Albania and Kosovo in the areas of common interest, the increase of trade exchanges between our two countries, thus becoming an example for the region, as well as the performance of the common agenda between the two governments were the focus of talks between them.

Prime Minister Rama and President Thaçi emphasized the mutual commitment of the two governments to further consolidate this cooperation through joint projects in areas such as infrastructure, education, customs, culture, etc.

President Thaçi thanked Prime Minister Rama for the contribution the government of Albania has provided and continues to provide to support the integration process of Kosovo and its membership in international organizations.

The meeting focused inter alia on developments in the region. President Thaçi was accompanied at the meeting by some ministers of the government of Kosovo.
