PRIME MINISTER RAMA HAD A MEETING WITH GREECE’S PARLIAMENT SPEAKER VANGELIS MEIMARAKIS, WHO WAS ON AN OFFICIAL VISIT IN TIRANA.
Expressing mutual satisfaction for this meeting, the two dignitaries praised the excellent relations that exist between our countries and confirmed their mutual willingness for further consolidation.
Prime Minister Rama said that the visit of Mr. Meimarakis in Tirana, even within the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, aims to strengthen regional cooperation bridges and develop joint projects between countries in the region.
Prime Minister Rama expressed his gratitude for the support that Greece has given and continues to give Albania for its European agenda progress. Mr. Meimarakis, while reaffirming that Greece fully supports the efforts of Albania’s EU integration, said that one of the objectives of Greek Presidency in the EU Council is that until June Albania has a positive report on the candidate status.
The discussion focused on regional developments, particularly on the fruitful cooperation between the countries in the region which since this cooperation, besides ensuring prosperity, preserves and strengthens peace and stability.
