During his visit to the Vatican, at the invitation of the Holy See, Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Linda Rama, was welcomed at the Apostolic Palace in the “San Damaso Courtyard” by the Prefect of the Papal Household and Gentlemen of His Holiness.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Rama was received in an audience by Pope Leo XIV in the Papal Library of the Apostolic Palace.

The homage at the tomb of Pope Francis, located in the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, was singled out by Prime Minister Rama as a special moment of the visit to the Holy See. “An unforgettable friend of Albania and of our family, who never forgot to pray for our people and to send us his messages of friendship,” Prime Minister Rama stated in a post on his social networks.

Today, the Prime Minister also visited St Peter’s Basilica, while earlier, Prime Minister Rama, his wife Linda Rama, and their son Zaho Rama visited, in Genazzano, the famous basilica where the image of The Lady of Good Counsel is located, on a fragment detached from the wall of the Church of Shkodra in the year 1467.
