The modernization of the road infrastructure, which directly influences both tourism development and the daily lives of citizens, remains a key priority for the government, and continues to be realized through new investments.
The Rrile-Hidrovor road, which connects the Lezhë-Tirana highway with the village of Rrile and the Hidrovorin of Tales, is an investment that supports the development of tourism along the entire coastline of Tales. Impressive hotel investment projects are being worked on to attract more visitors, create new opportunities for business and employment, and strengthen Lezhë as a reference point for Albanian tourism.
To closely monitor the progress of work on this road, Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with the Mayor of Lezhë, Pjerin Ndreu, visited the construction site today.
The road is approximately 6.3 km long, from the highway entrance to the seaside, and faces numerous issues, including degradation over time due to rainfall and landslides in various segments.
“This is the Hidrovor-highway road. It is one of the most important roads for tourism, but also for Albania. It is the road that comes from the highway to Tale, it fully serves the tourism of Tale, the developing coastline, and I believe you know well what projects are being prepared to be developed here. Besides connecting all the houses from Rrila to here, it takes only 5 minutes for Rrila to reach Tale, providing the opportunity for these homes to create family tourism.” – stated the Mayor of Lezhë, Pjerin Ndreu.
The interventions in the area’s infrastructure aim to provide high-quality public services according to modern standards across the entire territory, improve the quality of water service, stormwater drainage infrastructure, urban waste collection services, and the improvement of the road infrastructure. The construction and full reconstruction of the road network are planned, including the construction of a sidewalk on one side (left), a bicycle lane on the other side (right), the construction of stormwater drainage systems (KUB), street lighting, and reserve lines. The road will be built with two lanes of traffic.
“6.3 kilometers from the highway entrance to the seaside We hope that by the next tourist season, this will be finished and accessible. What is important is that, as a project, in addition to the road, there will be a sidewalk on one side and a bicycle lane on the other side. So, it will become a kind of tourist attraction, not only a road for car access but also for all citizens who want to visit the area.” – explained the director of the FSHZH, Dritan Agolli.
For his part, Prime Minister Rama praised the project for bringing this road to life as a very important axis for tourism, while emphasizing that other projects would complement the sustainable development of the area.
“To be honest, this road here has been a hammer on my head and Pjerin’s (Ndreu’s) head for 3 years, until we included it in the Development Fund program, made the project, and now we’re doing the implementation. These are very beautiful development projects and will bring better economy.” – stated the Prime Minister.
