Prime Minister Rama was deeply sorry to learn the death of two Albanian sailors, crewmen of the “Illiria” tug boat.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep condolences and solidarity to the families of the two sailors for the loss of their loved ones.

Although they were not part of the Albanian Armed Forces who participated in the operation to rescue the lives of passengers on board of the “Norman Atlantic”, the Albanian sailors gave a valuable contribution to the international effort to avert a catastrophe.

The Government is fully committed to bringing the two bodies on the Albanian soil and clearing as soon as the circumstances of the accident that took their lives.
