The “Prizren League” and “Petrit Llaftiu” schools are the last two educational facilities constructed from scratch under the ongoing post-earthquake reconstruction programme in the Municipality of Shijak. In September, more than 550 schoolchildren will return to their new schools built back larger, more resilient and meeting contemporary education standards, also integrated into an educational compound featuring sports grounds and communal outdoor premises. Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Shijak Mayor Elton Arbana, toured the two new school buildings today, seeing up close the classrooms and other school venues, where pupils will acquire knowledge.

“It is one of the 146 educational facilities constructed and being constructed in the quake-affected areas. This is the last school whose construction kicked off months ago in the Municipality and construction of the two nine-year schools, namely the Prizren League and Petrit Llaftiu schools completed today. The new school has 80 classrooms and four labs, as well as auxiliary premises serving both schools,” Shijak Mayor said.

The new educational facility covers a floor area of 8000 square meters, with the gym and the sports grounds covering a significant area.
