New roads bring new perspectives. One such road is the Bunavi – Kërkovë road in the Vlorë district, which has entered its second phase of construction, opening real development opportunities for seven villages in the Shushicë and Llakatund units. This investment also serves the Bunavi Military Base, which will host around 500 civil emergency forces.

To check the progress of this project, Prime Minister Edi Rama, along with Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu and the Mayor of Vlorë, Ermal Dredha, visited the area. They were warmly welcomed by the residents of the surrounding villages, who invited the Prime Minister to a spontaneous conversation and raised their requests concerning infrastructure and its improvement.

“Practically, this is the second phase of the intervention. We’ve completed the first part of the road, about 4 kilometers, and currently, we are working on the additional asphalt to extend it up to the center of the village of Bunavi, with even a branch leading into the village center. This is about a 3-kilometer road, giving access to the entire area, which, as we said, is an area with extraordinary agricultural potential, with fantastic olive groves,” explained Dritan Agolli, Director of the Albanian Development Fund.

Meanwhile, Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu informed that the Bunavi military base will welcome 500 soldiers and support staff, who will receive necessary services from the local residents, including food from local agricultural products.

Regarding this, the Prime Minister emphasized that necessary interventions will be made to improve the infrastructure of the buildings, so that young people can be educated in environments with optimal conditions.

Among the requests raised by the residents was the realization of a segment that connects the ring road of 7 villages, which is 1.1 kilometers long. The Prime Minister promised that it will become a reality soon.
