Arbjan Mazniku

Arbjan Mazniku serves as Minister of State for Local Governance as of September 2023.

From 2015 to 2023, Mr. Mazniku served as the Deputy Mayor of Tirana Municipality.

He previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, from 2013 to 2015. Before his public service, Arbjan Mazniku was the Executive Director of AGENDA Institute, an organization specialized in analyzing public policies in Albania, with a special focus on governance issues, European integration, and economic and social development.

Between 2003 and 2007, Mr. Mazniku was involved in the MJAFT Movement, a movement aimed at activating youth and promoting effective governance in Albania. Before 2003, Mr. Mazniku directed the National Debate Association, coordinating debate programs for high schools and universities.

Arbjan Mazniku graduated from the University of Tirana with a degree in Journalism and later received a Master’s degree in Political Communication from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.

In 2014, he completed the Harvard University Executive Education Program “Leading Economic Growth” and during the years 2017-2018, he was part of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative Program.
