Ogerta Manastirliu was born December 31st, 1978 in the city of Tirana.
She is the Minister of Education and Sports as of September 2023. Mrs. Manastirliu holds a Doctor of Science degree in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry.
She completed her studies at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Department of General Chemistry, where she obtained a Master of Science degree in the same field and has further worked as an external lecturer. Mrs. Manastirliu served as Minister of Health and Social Protection from 2017 to 2023.
Her professional career started in 2004 near the Municipality of Tirana, initially in the Directorate for Project Coordination. Between 2005 and 2011, she headed the Directorate for Housing and Social Services. In this role, Mrs. Manastirliu was one of the main contributors to the design and implementation of the “Local Social Housing Strategy”.
From 2011 to 2013, she was engaged as an expert for the management and coordination of social policies and human resources for various national and international organisations, such as UNFPA and Friedrich Ebert Foundation, among others. In the period September 2013 – March 2017, Mrs. Manastirliu directed the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Centre in Tirana. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, as a deputy for the Tirana district in the Albanian Parliament.
Mrs. Manastirliu is a member of the Socialist Party’s Presidency.
