Following the government’s 300-day public report, today it was the Ministry of Interior who reported publicly on its performance in the first 300 days.
Leaders of the Ministry and State Police said that during these period foundations for a reformed and modern police force have been laid, a police force at the service of citizens. Although it has been a difficult process with big challenges, a new relationship between citizens and police forces was built; Albania was removed from the black list for human trafficking, drug trafficking received a strong response, the rule of law was restored in Lazarat, but, above all, the State Police regained public confidence.
“In 300 days, people have increasingly had confidence in the State Police thanks to our determination to make it clear that we are at the service of citizens and to ensure that State Police really serves the people”- Minister of Interior Samir Tahiri said. The Minister noted, also, that the fight against corruption within the ranks of the State Police has been a priority since the very first day. This battle has just started, but it is on track.
