Albanian Government Council of Ministers

In his remarks at the press conference on the impact of Russian aggression on Ukraine on energy and fuel prices, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated:

“We regularly grant $45 million to subsidise electricity for the needy families so that the electricity price is kept unchanged at 7 lek per kwH, while the electricity price for the rest of Albanian household consumers is fixed at 9.5 lek per kWh, while the government, the state and relevant institutions purchase electricity at a price of 61 lek in the international market. So, the state budget pays 61 lek per kWh whereas the price at the electricity bills sent to the Albanian households is 9.5 lek.”
