The radical transformation of the student dormitory in Vlora’s ‘Ismail Qemali’ University is near completion and around 230 students will soon be housed in the newly-reconstructed building. Prime Minister Edi Rama today visited the reconstructed dormitory’s facilities, accompanied by Vlora’s University Dean and the Mayor of Vlora, Dritan Leli. PM Rama urged University Dean and Vlora Mayor to embark on the project’s second phase designed to rehabilitate the exterior areas around the dormitory building and the nursing home. The goal, according to the Prime Minister, is to turn the whole space into a university campus where students are provided with all the facilities necessary for student life.
The Premier announced that under the Pact for the University, the government approved earlier today the decision to furnish the student dormitories in the universities of Korça and Shkodra.
The government head also met the university students, who will soon move in the new dorm facilities that now feature a heating system, library, a reading room, a kitchen, facilities for people with different needs and emergency exit stairs.

Work is underway to repair and restore the old buildings’ facades, completing another transforming investment in Vlora as part of the ongoing Urban Renaissance Program.
