Ervin Hoxha

Ervin Hoxha was born on October 13th, 1978 in Tirana. He serves as Interior Minister since July 2024.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Hoxha has held various state positions from the executive level to high management levels in central law enforcement institutions such as: Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, State Police, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice.

From November 2023, Mr. Hoxha served as Chief Inspector of the National Inspectorate of Territory Protection.

Previously, Mr. Hoxha served as Director of International Relations of the National Police, Head of the National Unit of Europol, Head of the National Central Office of Interpol, Director of the Traffic Police, Director of the Directorate for the Protection of Witnesses and Associates of Justice, Director of Tax Investigation and Money Laundering; Deputy Director General of the Social Insurance Institute, Director General of the Probation Service, Director of the Cabinet and advisor to several high-ranking state officials.

Mr. Hoxha is also specialized in the field of security and law enforcement in the USA, Austria, Germany and other European countries.

He completed his secondary education in Balikesir, Turkey. He then continued his studies at the Security Academy in Dresden, Germany. In 2006, he graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tirana. He completed his post-graduate studies at the German Police Academy in Münster, Germany, where he obtained an MA in Public Administration and Police Management.

Mr. Hoxha is married and has two children.
