Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Several school buildings in the municipality of Kavaje, severely damaged because of the tragic earthquake that hit Albania on November 26 last year, are being reborn thanks to the post-earthquake recovery and reconstruction program. The same goes for Shtodher nine-year school, which has been transformed from a 3D design into a reality through a contemporary project designed to bring 130 pupils back to a larger, more resilient and beautiful school building that meets optimal and contemporary habitation and education conditions, just like any other educational facility in the European Union member states.

The new school also houses a kindergarten for 25 children and a total of 130 pupils. The educational facility has 11 classrooms, 4 labs and sports grounds.

The State Minister for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj, while accompanying the Prime Minister Edi Rama during a visit to the newly-rebuilt school, noted that “construction of 30 schools is slated to complete by December 31.”

“Construction of the majority of school buildings in projects being implemented by the Albanian Development Fund, will complete in January,” Ahmetaj added.

PM Rama praised builders for the work and demanded that highest quality standards are delivered to every project detail.
