Albanian brothers and sisters in Tetovo, Skope and North Macedonia!
Today you should be proud of how much you have accomplished in advancing you rights in the friendly and neighbouring country.
Goodness is unlimited and it is never enough, but it would suffice to look back, not to a very distant past, just several years ago, to figure out the huge and decisive steps have been taken towards affirming the dignity and integrity of Albanians in that Republic, where until lately Albanians were treated as second-hand people, even though there could be no state of North Macedonia without the Albanian people.
The history you have made all together over the past years – thanks to Ali Mehmeti’s patriotic and republican vision and the positive will of the political leaders, who brought into existence the cynically so-called Tirana Platform by the obstructers of our language – is a glorious page in the long struggle for the freedoms and rights of Albanians in North Macedonia.
The everyday politics, just like everywhere else and as always it has done, causes divisions among you when it comes to various issues and opinions, but in no way should it prevent you again from seeing your identity, our Albanian identity and its affirmation in every dimension of the life of the state where you live as a cause of all causes prevailing over any division, deals and parties.
Today marks one of those moments in your life as the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia, where none of you, not a single one of you, wherever they may reside, whatever the business they deal with or the plight they face, shouldn’t miss the registration of the population of the state of North Macedonia.
The population census takes place after so many years, because the previous deadline was deliberately abolished by those who didn’t want to enumerate you and moved heaven and earth to hurt the cause of the Albanian dignity and identity in that state.
You know better than anyone and whoever of you does not know, should learn that the constitutional power of the Albanian people participation and decision-making in the affairs of that state depends on the number of Albanians registered in the Republic of North Macedonia.
You are not being asked to take up arms, thank God, and go to the mountains. You are neither being asked to pick up shovels and go out to the field.
You are even not being asked to leave your houses at all and all it takes is you spend just 5 minutes; not a single minute more than that, maybe less, to sit in front of the computer or click on the address census.stat.gov.mk. on your smart phone. You can write on this address your name, the names of your father and mother who gave you birth as an Albanian and that gave you blood and language, which this census protects in the same way as it protects the Albanian state-building population of North Macedonia.
Friends!
We Albanians face a big deficiency; we don’t appreciate the extreme importance of a chain of insignificant things. Consequently, thinking of great victories only, we often happen to lose those small battles that a great nation wins on daily basis.
This has been the case not infrequently and we have woken up then too late, paying dear costs of minor defeats in our daily life.
So, if you are going to lose this small, only 5-minute long battle fought without rifles or shovels, sitting idly at home today, the cost of this loss for the entire Albanian population tomorrow in the house of the state of North Macedonia will be very high.
Therefore, before you eat dinner tonight and fall asleep while watching TV, sit down and carry on your little battle by proudly registering as Albanian citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.
God bless Albanians!
