The government’s new approach to agricultural development marks the first optimistic results with 30% growth of export of Albanian products. This is very positive news for agriculture, but also for the Albanian economy, announced today by Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minster of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Management Panariti at the inauguration ceremony of the renovated offices of the Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development is considered to be an important element in the implementation of the government program for agriculture. AZHBR is a government agency whose purpose is to support agriculture and rural development in Albania through government funding program for agriculture and rural development, as well as funds from EU and other donors.

Minister Panariti pointed out the importance of the agency as an institution with the attributes of a bank for agriculture and said that we are at the beginning of a major transformation of agriculture, while the Paying Agency is the financial catalyst for this development.

“Our approach to financial support to agriculture is completely new. As part of the government program, our approach is oriented towards results and prevention of influence peddling schemes. Our schemes are oriented towards supporting farmers and agro-processing industries, “- Minister Panariti said.

AZHBR has begun implementation of new schemes of support from which, upon application, will benefit farmers and agro-processing industries throughout the country. For the first time, these schemes include financial support for rural development.
