Prime Minister Edi Rama’s response to opposition claims and allegations:
MP Orjola Pampuri: (PM) Rama fell short of telling Albanian citizens who has sponsored his accommodation at the legendary and luxurious Wildbad Kreuth, once a gem of the Bavarian royal family Wittelsbach and a spa for Russian tsars and Austrian empresses?
PM Edi Rama: The fact that I have posed for a photo close to the legendary hotel together with the renowned German journalist Gisela Freisinger doesn’t necessarily mean that I was accommodated at that hotel. I stayed with the family in the city of Munich and I have spent around an hour in the town of Tegernsee with the journalist for her leading business journal Manager Magazine with outdoor interviews with invited personalities and guests. So, instead of going that far to the spa resorts for tsars and empresses, I would suggest you rather find a translator and don’t focus on the pictures only.
MP Orjola Pampuri: By resorting to jibes, Edi Rama told Albanians a day ago he has spent their money to cover Munich trip costs and give an interview for his own plight so that his image tarnished by crime and corruption is cleaned.
PM Edi Rama: No, I didn’t announce this yesterday! Whoever listened or wished to do so, he clearly listened that I travelled to Munich with a 345-euro valid ticket for Lufthansa economy class together with my spouse and the youngest son.
MP Orjola Pampuri: Rama didn’t provide any answers to the Albanian citizens whose money he used to make a secret charter trip with fuel costs alone estimated at 120,000 euros?
PM Edi Rama: I actually very clearly explained how and with whom I travelled. Not only that, but I even explained the arithmetic behind the supposed 120,000 euro fuel consumption for a single flight, based on the formula for 5004 delegates sitting on 1958 seats with their hands up.
MP Orjola Pampuri: Today we are asking (PM) Edi Rama again: Did he most recently take a charter flight to Sweden? Who sponsored this trip?
PM Edi Rama: Sweden? What on earth an interview in Munich would have to do with Sweden? No, I haven’t travelled to Sweden! However, light will be shed on the issue of payment for this imaginary trip. That’s why one should urgently ask the person who accommodated 5004 delegates in 1958 real seats in the Palace of Congresses!
MP Orjola Pampuri: PM Rama has spent 798.3 million euros from Albanian taxpayers’ money for luxury only in eight years.
PM Edi Rama: Eight years of flights, five consecutive defeats multiplied with seven armoured doors, divided with 42 sledgehammers all make a single tin split in two to be hanged around the reasonable Democratic Party supporters by two crazy people who have taken the Democratic Party hostage for their own personal interests.
