Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Hard work and sacrifices of doctors throughout Albania are real and inalienable. This statement was made by Prime Minister Edi Rama as he addressed a meeting with citizens in Korça, including doctors at the regional hospital.  “I know that the country has a medical personnel that really deserves respect and there is a huge gap between the reality of the doctors’ and nurses’ work, efforts and sacrifices and the perception that is mainly fuelled by the previous bad experiences in the past, as well as by the fact that many has not been forced to go to a hospital and seek healthcare service over the past few years and still resorts to the stories and past experiences, when the hospitals were in a catastrophic state. Such perception is also fuelled by really disgusting cases and incidents like the one concerning the cleaning woman at “Shefqet Ndroqi” University Hospital, or other potential cases,” PM Rama said, adding that “such isolated cases can in no way destroy the doctors’ and nurses’ investment in protecting the citizens’ lives, especially during this extraordinary period and challenge facing the healthcare system throughout the world. Therefore, respect and gratitude to them.”

Meanwhile, one of the doctors participating in the meeting, thanks the government head for equipping Korca regional hospital with state-of-the-art technology and modern medical gas supply system.  “Our appreciation goes to you for installation of a medical gas supply system that provides constant supply, as the oxygen-cylinder supply was a nightmare,” the doctor said.
