Deputy PM Peleshi received today the Chinese delegation led by the State Councillor of the People’s Republic of China Yang Jing. This is the first time that our country is being visited by a personality of this calibre, which is equivalent to that of Deputy Prime Minister.

In addition to Deputy PM Peleshi, today’s meeting was attended also by the Minister of Agriculture and Water Management, Mr Panariti, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Coordinator of the 16 +1 Cooperation Initiative, Mr Belortaja, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Mr Mete, and the Deputy Minister of Transports, Mr. Shaqiri.

The parties had the opportunity to express once again their appreciation for the good climate of cooperation that exists between our two countries and our two peoples. In addition, they reaffirmed the political will to finalizing the Agreement on the Arber Road, enhancing trade and economic cooperation, cooperation in the field of investments, agriculture, education, culture etc.

Mr Peleshi thanked the Chinese delegation for the 10 million RMB grant for agricultural machineries, considering this support as another concrete step of China in assisting the modernization of the agricultural sector in our country.

In the context of increasing cooperation in the field of education, Mr Peleshi took the opportunity to thank the Chinese delegation for providing educational equipment to the 5 schools that are implementing the pilot project for learning Chinese.

Mr Peleshi informed the Chinese delegation that the Government has submitted the mutual draft agreement on visa facilitation for the category of tourists and businessmen from both countries, as a means that is expected to increase significantly the number of Chinese tourists and investors in Albania.
